John
is currently in his fourth term as
committeeman. He follows a precedent of
public service set by his father, the late
John “Lenny” Carman, who was a committeeman
in the 1980’s. Both John and Lenny were
founding members of the United Republican
Club of Egg Harbor Township.
John is a union carpenter and former Deputy
Mayor. Prior to being elected to the
township committee, he served on the
Planning Board, the Zoning Board and the
Environmental Commission. Volunteering on
these boards serves as the first step for
many committeemen. John also volunteered to
build Castle Park Playground, which many
people may not realize was a total, grass
roots volunteer effort on the part of many
residents. He also serves on the Republican
County Committee.
John lives in the English Creek section of
the township. He is married with two adult
children.
